What gets checked

The I-693 does not assess your general health. It checks what immigration law treats as grounds of inadmissibility: communicable diseases of public health significance, the required vaccination record, and certain disorders or substance use.

What the visit includes

• Review of your medical history and of any documented vaccines you bring
• General physical exam
• Tuberculosis testing, skin or blood, depending on your age and history
• Required lab work
• On-site administration of any missing vaccines
• The signed form handed to you in a **sealed envelope**

Bring your vaccination record

It is what prevents repeat visits. Your card from your home country counts even if it is old and in another language: **every vaccine you cannot document has to be repeated**. Also bring photo identification, your case number if you have one, and paperwork from any previous tuberculosis treatment.

Do not open the envelope

The form is handed over sealed and signed. If the envelope is opened, the document loses its validity and the entire exam has to be repeated. We also give you a copy for your own records, and that one you can read.
